Monday, 3 July 2023 - Singapore: Background screening platform, Veremark, has announced that they have been selected by the Ministry of Manpower for Singapore's education verification for all new Employment Pass applicants from 1 September.
From September 1, employers who submit new EP applications and declare qualifications to earn points under the Complementarity Assessment (Compass) framework are required to provide verification proof of diploma and higher education credentials. This update was initially announced in March, highlighting the significance of ensuring the authenticity and accuracy of educational qualifications in the application process.

MOM has announced that verification proof obtained from the designated background-screening companies will be accepted by the ministry before September 1st. This verification proof can be obtained using any of the approved methods listed on MOM's website. Additionally, starting from September 1st, 2024, the verification requirement will also be applicable for the renewal of existing EPs that were not previously assessed under the Compass framework. These measures ensure the authenticity and accuracy of qualifications and contribute to maintaining a trustworthy and reliable workforce in Singapore.
Veremark, along with eleven other providers, was selected based on various criteria including the scale of operations and global coverage, efficiency and cost-effectiveness of qualification verification, robust processes to ensure verification quality and client data confidentiality, as well as strong customer support capabilities. With their extensive global presence, Veremark offers authenticity checks for educational qualifications and accreditation verification for educational institutions, providing comprehensive background screening services to meet the needs of employers.
