A behind-the-scenes update that brings more transparency to your checks.

When you’re managing multiple background checks, staying updated on each request’s status can get tricky—especially if there’s a delay or manual intervention involved.

To improve visibility, we’ve made a small but meaningful change: Comments left by our Operations team are now displayed in the activity log of each check on the client portal.

If a team member adds a note tied to a specific action—such as explaining a delay, clarifying a result, or sharing an internal update—you’ll see it directly in the log.

What’s changed:

  • Notes added by our Ops team will now appear in your check’s activity log on the portal.
  • These notes are tied to specific actions (e.g. when a check is paused, resumed, or manually updated).
  • They follow a standard format, so you can quickly identify what was done and why.
  • This only applies to notes intentionally marked for sharing—internal-only notes will remain internal.
  • Why this matters

This update gives you better visibility into what’s happening behind the scenes—without needing to follow up with support. It’s part of our ongoing effort to make the background check process more transparent and collaborative.
