FAQs

Can Veremark provide an Australian Federal Police (AFP) if I need one?

We offer AFP checks and can configure each client or area with the necessary types of checks needed. After entering all relevant information into the online system, the applicant must print out the forms and provide clear copies of their ID. These forms and ID copies should be scanned and uploaded to the system. Subsequently, we proceed to submit the request for a Criminal History Check and typically receive the resulting Certificate within approximately 3-7 days.

What is the difference between an ACIC check and an Australian Federal Police (AFP) check?

Essentially, these checks both use the ACIC system to gather information, ensuring uniformity. The result of an AFP check is a printed certificate on AFP secure paper, typically completed within 3-7 days. Conversely, ACIC direct checks are usually processed instantly in 95% of cases, with a unique reference number provided for matching to the ACIC search result. Typically, a National Police check via the ACIC system suffices, but specific circumstances like Immigration purposes may necessitate an Australian Federal Police check.

This does happen from time to time and can take from an hour up to 10 or more days. We do however stay in contact with ACIC and follow any outstanding checks through to completion as soon as possible. The Veremark system is updated with any information relating to general delays or follow ups on specific files so you are kept informed.
